Romania Outreach Ministries (ROM) works in the rural areas of western Romania. Started in 1994 by Pastor Arne Halvarson and his wife Carolyn, ROM was founded to respond to the need for more biblical training in the former communist country. What began as a Bible school has evolved into a ministry that responds to the needs of villages for Christian education, church construction, youth camps, and support in the ministries of the original Bible school graduates.
“The harvest is plentiful, the workers are few,” from the book of Matthew, was the call that Arne responded to after visiting Romania. He began the Caransebes Bible Institute, the beginning outreach of ROM; however, the ministry has flourished over the years in a variety of directions as opportunities have arisen. God has consistently met ministry needs as ROM has stepped out in faith to help build churches, train pastors, and mentor graduates in their work. Youth camps have been conducted each summer for the past 12 years at the ROM conference grounds. Musical bands have been started as an outreach to village youth. Many work groups have come short-term from the States to help with construction projects.
If you are interested in ministering with a work group, or have questions regarding ROM, please contact Arne at firstname.lastname@example.org We hope that you enjoy seeing some of the work that is going on by viewing our photo gallery. Please pray that the fruit of this ministry would be glorifying to God as the Gospel message is spread.
